TEHRAN – The Islamic Republic’s military doctrine is based on defense and it has never an aggressive approach in its strategy, structures, and equipment, Iran’s Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan said on Monday.
The defense minister said Iran currently enjoys acceptable security and stability in the volatile region of Middle East, Dehqan said.He added that the Armed Forces would maintain their deterrent power in dealing with threats and defeat any move against the country.
Dehqan pointed out that Iran’s defense might relies on the people.
“In the 8-year Iran-Iraq war, the whole logistics of the war relied on the people. It is the same today,” the defense minister said.
He emphasized that the power of the people is much greater than that of nuclear weapons.
